National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal invites applications for admission to full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program for the session July 2016
The PhD Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Part-time (PT) modes, are offered in the following Departments:
Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Engineering Communications, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Management
Full-time PhD research scholars are eligible to receive fellowships as per MHRD norms/institute rules

Eligibility Criteria

Indian Nationals having the following qualifying degree can apply for admission into PhD Programs

For Full Time PhD in Engineering Programs: Candidates should have M.Tech/ME or equivalent degree. Candidates should have passed the prescribed qualifying exam in first class with a CGPA of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60% aggregate marks (55% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates)
Candidates who have completed M.Tech/M.S programs through GATE score (or) who already possesses a valid GATE score are eligible for admission with institute fellowship as per MHRD norms

For Full Time PhD in Science & Humanities Programs: Candidates with valid GATE/NET scores only, are eligible for admission. Candidates should have M.Phil or equivalent degree, or M.Sc/M.Sc (Tech)/MA or equivalent degree
Admission to a PhD program shall be open to candidates who passed theprescribed qualifying exam in first class with a CGPA of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60% aggregate marks (55% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates)
Candidates who are in final year of Qualifying Degree can also apply; however, such candidates have to submit their provisional certificate on or before 16th August 2016

For PhD Part-Time Program
In case of SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria for all Departments is Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 on a 10-point scale grading system, or not less than 55% marks in aggregate

Part-time PhD Program is open to: (a) Persons working in National Research Laboratories/Govt. R&D organizations; (b) Persons working in PSUs/Industries having an MoU with NIT, Warangal; (c) Permanent faculty members of NIT, Warangal; (d) Essential Requirements Same as full time accept the requirement of having valid GATE score

Applications are not kept for sale at the Institute
A Demand Draft will have to be drawn in favour of "The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal", payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch (Code No. 20149) or SBI, Battala Bazar (Code No. 07456)
The filled in applications along with necessary documents and a cross Demand Draft of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards Registration fee, drawn in favor of "The Director, National Institute of Technology", Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch or SBI, Battala Bazar should reach Associate Dean, Academic Section, National Institute of Technology, Warangal-506004
